In the Scientific Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Vienna

           Date: 5th March

Scientific seminar
in
the field of Semiconductor Physics

Topic:
Heterosemiconductor junctions - fundamentals  of modern microelectronics
Lecturer:
Professor Dr. hab. Helmut Sitter
, Johannes-Kepler-University Vienna
Professor Dr. hab. Marian Herman , director of the scientific center of the PAS
Number of participants: 50, among them 15 Austrians

On 5. March 2001 a seminar evening took place in the reading room of the library in the scientific center of the PAS. It was devoted to the presentation of the scientific career of Professor Dr. Marian Herman. Dr. Emil Brix, Federal Ministry for Foreign affairs of the Republic of Austria, presented Prof. Hermanīs career and illustrated his presentation by showing the most prominent data on transparencies.  Pic. 5 shows Dr. Brix during his lecture. Subsequently, the scientific part of the seminar began.
