" Bibliophils "

Topic : 
About the scientific and technical problems of important  Polish libraries
Lecturer:
Professor Dr. hab. Stanislaw Sierpowski - director of the library of the PAS in Kórnik
Dr. Jerzy Duda - chancellors of the knight order of the Bibliophils in Cracow
Number of participants: 65 persons, among them20 Austrians 

 

    The bibliophil´ seminar, devoteded to the problems of important scientific libraries in Poland, took place on 5 May 200. 
In the course of the seminar, two lectures were held, the first one was devoted to the stocks and, in addition, 
to the problems of the library of the PASc. in Kórnik, the second one  to  interesting habits, 
which are maintained by the Cracow's Bibliophils.
  
In his lecture with the title : White Crows of the Kórnik library Professor Sierpowski spoke 
about the following range of topics: 

- methods of preservation of valuable books and documents
- techniques of the keeping of valuable book collections
- identification of original documents and books

    W drugim wykładzie seminarium bibliofilskiego Dr Jerzy Duda przedstawił historię ruchu bibliofilskiego w Krakowie w czasie przełomu wieków XIX- XX, jak i obecną działalność zakonu rycerskiego bibliofilów, zwłaszcza w zakresie konserwacji i udostępniania zabytkowych dzieł przechowywanych w bibliotekach Krakowa. Wykładowcę w czasie jego wykładu przedstawia Zdjęcie 6.

    After the scientific part of the seminar, the young, but already well-known and reputated caper quartet DAFO 
(Cracow, Justyna Duda - first violin, Danuta Augustyn - second violin, Kinga Roesler - viola and Anna Armatys - cello) 
played the following compositions: Quartet in D major of Mozart as well as quartet in C major of Szymanowski.
