Scientific seminar: Friction teachings

Topic: The present state of research of the friction teachings as well as development perspectives in Poland

   On 5.9.2001 a scientific seminar took place in the scientific center of the PAS, which was devoted to the problems of  
friction teachings in Poland. In the course of this seminar, the following main research topics were treated  
in eight 15-minutes scientific reports: 
(i) range and extent of the applied friction theory in Poland, 
(ii) special fields of friction teachings of Polish research institutions, 
(iii) co-operation of all universities with the industry within the field of the applied friction teachings,
(iv) research projects from the field  of the friction teachings, which are supported by the committee for scientific research. 
Following the reports a vivid  discussion evolved,Minister Frackowiak, 
secretary of state in the committee for scientific research and office-prominent science Ministers in Poland took part.

Participants: 18 Polish scientists ,who participated it the second world congress for tribology in Vienna, 3. - 
as well as 7 September 2001:
Professor Eva Zdravecka, Slovakei and Professor Yury M. Pleskachevsky, Belarus.

Professor Dr. Jan Krzysztof Frackowiak, the office-prominent science Minister, 
secretary of state in the committee for scientific research in Warsaw, participated as an guest of honour in this seminar
