Inauguration
of the reading room of the library
as well as
Signing of the three-lateral contract about the transfer
of the book collection
the family Forst Battaglia to the Ossolinski's
National Institute in Wroclaw
In order to inaugurate the reading room of the library of the center,
a celebration took place in the center of the PAS on 15th
January. In course of the this ceremony, the director of the
center Prof. Herman gave a lecture. He presented the present
library stock as well as further projects regarding the development
and specialization of the library.
Additionally, a historical-scientific seminar
concerning the following topic took place.
Topic:
The
role of count Ossolinski and the Ossolinski's National Institute
for creating the Polish culture
in the 19. and 20. century on the area of the Austrian-Hungarian
monarchy
Lecturer:
Dr. Adolf Juzwenko - director of the Ossolinski's
National Institute , Wroclaw
Dr. Jakub Forst Battaglia - Federal Ministry for
Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria
Number
of participants: 40,
among them 10 Austrians
Additionally, the three-lateral agreement was signed by
Dr. Adolf Juzwenko ( Ossolinski's National Institute), Dr. Jakub
Forst Battaglia and Prof. Herman ( PASc) in order to hand over the
book collection of the family Forst Battaglia to the Ossolinski's
National Institute, provided its preservation and its public
access.
(Due to the present Treaty the center was also relieved by
the obligation to restore the damaged books of the
collection). Pic. 1 shows the signing of the agreement, pic.
