Parks as macrolaboratories for ecological research

The seminar was organized by the Scientific center of the PAS in
cooperation with the Natural History Museum
in Vienna and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Austria.
The first part of the seminar took place on 22.5.2001 in the reading
room of the library of the center of the PAS .
The lecturers presented the scientific research, pursued in the
National Park of Bialowieza in Poland
(Assistant Professor Okolow) and in the National Park Donauauen in
Austria (Professor Loetsch).

seminar participants,
among them the ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Austria,
Professor Dr. hab. Irena
Lipowicz.

The
second part of
the seminar was organized by the Austrian delegation and took place in
the
Austrian National Park Donauauen, on 23 May 2001.The participants got
acquainted with the National Park Donauauen and central research
issues
At
the end of the seminar, the Austrian and the Polish delegation decided
the organisation of an ecological conference, to be organised by
the Scientific center of the PAS
