Juridification of history between collective memory, historiography and politics of memory

The conference will deal with the process of influence of legislators and courts on the discourse about the past. The conference is organized by the Scientific Center in cooperation with the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM), the Institute for Comparative Media and Communication Studies (CMC) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) and the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt (AAU) and the Documentation Centre of Austrian Resistance.
The conference, which will be attended by scientists from all over Europe, will be streamed and can be followed on the conference website www.lawandmemory.eu.

The aim of the
Polish-Italian-Austrian discussion forum TRIALOGUE
is to encourage scientists from Austria, Italy and Poland to exchange ideas and academic experience. The series of discussions initiated in 2020 deals with the current world situation and the effects of COVID-19 on a number of areas of social life - for example future of universities, the future of the work and labour market relations or new forms of digital democracy. The seminars take place in Vienna and are recorded and published on the social media profiles of the Polish Academy of Science. In 2020 all seminars will take place online due to COVID-19.

A new fellowship programme for excellent researchers at the The Polish Academy of Sciences (Polska Akademia Nauk)
Call for applications
PAS is pleased to announce the PASIFIC Fellowship Programme funded within the MSCA COFUND scheme. The PASIFIC programme offers attractive 2-year postdoctoral fellowships to excellent researchers of any nationality, working in any scientific discipline. Each PASIFIC fellow will be granted a monthly allowance of approx. €2,500 net and, if applicable, an additional family allowance. In addition, PASIFIC fellows will be provided with a research budget of up to €93,000 per project.
Successful candidates will carry out their research at one of the 68 institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw. Before applying, the applicants will be asked to identify and contact a suitable Host Institute and an academic mentor who will commit to supporting their research.
Applicants will be obliged to fill in an online application form that will be available from March 15th to June 30th, 2021 (Call 1) and from September 15th to December 30th, 2021 (Call 2).
The PASIFIC candidates must comply with the MSCA mobility rule. They must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Poland for more than one year out of the three years prior to the call’s deadline.
